📢 The Dangers of Hyper-Independence in Motherhood (And How I Finally Let Go)

Hey Mama,

For years, I wore my independence like a badge of honor. I convinced myself that I had to do it all, alone because that's what I'd seen my mother do. I grew up with a single mother and saw her struggle financially but she always seemed to land on her feet and could make something out of nothing. So being that I was married with children, I should be able to do all that she was able to do and more, right? Wrong.

What I failed to realize that I was glorifying my mother's suffering. All those years she HAD to do everything alone, wasn't by choice it was by force. There was no other way. Never did I ever see her have or enjoy hobbies, a work out routine, time alone, a self-care routine and it had a huge impact on her mental and phisiological health.

And here I was carrying that generational trauma around like a torch. Hyper-independence isn't something I'm going to continue to practice or be proud of. Even as I draft this newsletter, my husband is taking care of two of our three kids so I can work on my passion and I acknowledge and accept that I NEED HIS HELP (and more) to pursue my own passions and gifts. I am realizing that accepting help doesn’t make me less capable—it makes me more present.

And guess what? Despite having more kids, more projects, and the same 24 hours in a day…
🔥 I’m running a homeschool co-op with more passion than ever.
🔥 I’m perfecting a schedule and curriculum that fits our unique family rhythms.
🔥 I have time to actually enjoy the things I once set aside.

It turns out, thriving doesn’t mean doing it all—it means doing what truly matters, in a way that works for YOU.
